Ben Tallon spoke about all the things he's done up until now and how every step in his adult career has lead him further into newer ideas he can produce. He started off by drawing and drawing a lot but he was very free about what he did. But now he has come to have a certain style within his work which has become apart of who he is.
Ben Tallon actually came out with a few life lessons which I've decided I should try more to accept within my own development of work. He takes criticism well and actually uses that to create a new self and a new image within his work.
He has also advised to show to new clients or employers what is relevant to what you want to do and treat this like its a shop window. But also show a mix of skills that you are capable of within any presentation that you do.

Showreel Of My Years Work In Motion Graphics
The last thing that needed to be done for my motion graphics class was to put together a showreel for my years work. I feel that the music and the timing of the clips really work well together. And really show off some of the skills I have learnt this last year.

Take Down Of The George Wood Exhibition
Just like setting up the exhibition I have done a time-lapse of the take down of the exhibition. I find it really fascinating how you can watch us set up and take down the entire exhibition.

George Wood Exhibition Inside Shop
So that I had some records of the exhibition I decided to take some images of the space inside the shop.

During The 3 Days Of The George Wood Exhibition
The shop that we picked gets used for various things all the time but is mostly kept closed. This is where the idea of stickers came from. The idea for this is for each colour of sticker it represents something different that you remember that shop being. It was the idea that passers by would look into the shop see our animations and also stick down a sticker onto the shop window what they remember the shop being. It was fascinating to see that people actually became involved in this.
I took an image of the stickers every day so you could see them process with more and more people getting involved with the exhibition.

This first photo is of the front from the day we set up the exhibition. Wednesday 4th May.
The image was taken in the evening when we were shutting everything down. We put a couple of stickers in the shop window to get things going for passers by. To make them feel like that could get involved.
This next image was taken on Thursday 5th May. This image was taken at 9 in the morning before set up. It was quick exciting to see that in the few hours that the exhibition was set up for, passers by has already gotten involved in putting stickers up in the shop window.
Friday 6th May 9 in the morning. I was quick exciting to get up to open the exhibition to find a lot more stickers on the window. I really liked the kite that someone had done on the front. I feel that its quite inspiring to know that people have gotten that involved in our exhibition.
Saturday 7th May. Today was the day we took down the exhibition but before we got around to doing the taking down, I got a chance to take an image of the front of the shop. It was exciting yet again to see that more stickers had been put up on the window. There was a sticker in the middle of the O on Wood more stickers on the kite. I just really enjoyed the idea that passers by have been making themselves apart of our exhibition.

Setting Up The George Wood Exhibition
Throughout this last year I have gotten involved in an extra club called Motion Go. In the past few weeks we have been working towards an exhibition that would be held in the Huddersfield town centre. It was based on an exhibition of George Woods life work. In Heritage Quay you can go along and there are books after books of information that this guy has collected throughout his life. We went along and looked at some of the information he collected and used that to make animations for ourselves.
The idea of the exhibition was we were putting up 4 projectors in a shop with large windows. 3 of them to have our full animations on to be rotated constantly where the 4th projector would be a 7 minute showreel of clips from everyones work to be shown on a loop. It was an idea to inform people about the George Wood exhibition thats held in uni and to show people what it was like in the 1900's. I was mostly fascinated by the women aspect of the information he collected. So my animations are short and simple but I feel hold a lot of information that people can really relate to.
We had a giant canvas made for the shop so we could project onto it. It was amusing getting it up the stairs to go in the shop.
I took a short time-lapse of us setting up the exhibition.

Collide Exhibition
As part of the Collide project my year group were involved in setting up an end of year exhibition. It consisted of the best work from our year group to be shown on display for a whole week. Luckily 2 pieces of my work were chosen to be in the exhibition. I have a video that was shown in the showreel of all my marbling images that were placed amongst other peoples work. I also had the chance to add in one of my canvases that was displayed by a wall. The canvas that was up was the one with all the writing on where I wrote down throughout the day every time something made me feel happy.
I was very exciting to be apart of an exhibition especially when not everyones work was chosen to be displayed in it. I was also involved in helping put up the exhibition. I went round with one of the tutors and put up all of the posters that you can now see up on the walls. It was a long and tiring day but it was worth it when we had our opening night for the collide exhibition where I was then very proud that I had produced work and that is was now being shown in my very first exhibition.

Rigging A Character
To learn how to rig a character I started by using a cylinder and adding a skeleton inside so that when I move the bottom of the skeleton up and down it will bend the cylinder itself. I then tried to do the same thing to a character that was given to us. So instead of just adding a single leg I added a whole body. Through doing this though I found that it is very very easy to mess up the skeleton and ruin the entire model. This was something I learnt pretty fast. After experimenting with trying to add a skeleton to a model I then moved onto a model that had already had a skeleton placed in it. This is when I was able to animation with a character. It so happened that that character was the hulk. I went nearly frame to frame changing the position in a run for that kind of character. Then the software filled in the gaps by moving from one position to the next.
I found it was really exciting to know the entire process from drawing a design of your own character to then model the character to then learn how to rig it and animate it. When I get the chance to animate my cat model I'll really appreciate learning the entire process.
