In one of the first weeks we were asked to play a game. However, this wasn't just any ordinary game it was to help us understand more about surrealism and how important it is for us adapt and use those ideas within our own work.
Surrealism was a movement that started in the 1920's where it was considered to move away from the ideas of a dream and fantasy and really show the reality through art. It is known for its visually exciting artworks and writing. So the idea of this game was to get us to work completely blind and just draw anything, then we'd fold over the paper and draw all over again not knowing what was previously drawn.
I really liked this way of working because you don't really know what the final result will come out as. This is a very effective way to help you understand surrealism better.
